Movie: Ultraviolet

Saw 'Ultraviolet' this evening. A friend treated me to the movie. I give the movie 5.5 out of 10 stars. It could have been MUCH MUCH better. They lost me there in the beginning when they had Milla Jovavich driving the motorcycle on the side of a building. Ummm......yeah.

Although...I will admit that there were some pretty profound lines in the movie. My favorite among them is the following dialogue...

Violet: Why are you doing this?
(short pause)
Garth: Isn't it obvious?
(long pause)
Garth: Why won't you let anyone in?
(short pause)
Violet: Because these moments...as beautiful as they are...they're evil when they're gone.

Anyhoo...enough of that. :)

You know, I think Milla was great in the Fifth Element, so-so in Resident Evil (good enough to make it one of the few decent video game movies) and passable in Joan of Arc. The advertising for this movie did not pique my interest at all. It looked to much like Aeon Flux and even that didn't interest me. However, V for Vendetta looks savvvvy.

She was definately great in 5th element. The problem is that she's been typcast as some gung ho kick-butt superhuman (both in 'Resident Evil' and more so in this one). I miss Leeloo!!
